I was told just yesterday that someone envied and admired me. Not because of any material wealth or a beautiful girlfriend, but because even after all the bad times of late, I can still be positive and be proud of my individuality. Admittedly, they used coarser language, (send me a note and I'll let you know what they actually said)but the point was made and the question asked how do I do it? Well the simple answer is, I use the best guideline anyone has ever said on the subject. You have probably all heard parts of what I am about to share, and maybe I have taken it slightly out of context and claimed it as my own, but isn't that the point of what was said?
The person in question is one Marianne Williamson, and the quote I use in my life is what she said about our greatest fear.
Our Greatest Fear Marianne Williamson
it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
Marianne Williamson
I truly believe these are the wisest words that anyone has ever spoken, and I dare each and every one of you that reads this journal to follow her example. You'll be surprised just how true those words are.
Be good, and if you can't be good, be lucky!
